Emmeline rested her hands on his arms where they crossed over her stomach and a blush warmed her cheeks at his uncharacteristic romanticism.
“I thought I wouldn’t hear such sweet words from you after what I said earlier,” she admitted. “I mean the part about you deceiving me with your sweet talk.”
Zavian chuckled. “Maybe I should deprive you of them,” he threatened.

“When you told me your brother was sending you to France, I made up my mind to go with you.” Zavian answered with characteristic nonchalance.
