Chapter 52. Gratitude
Nina’s POV
After Alexander had finished with his speech, The crowd’s roar was like a loud, jarring mix of gasps, murmurs, and angry shouts that vibrated through my entire body. The harsh spotlight still shone down on me, but Alexander drew everyone’s attention. He was a calming presence in the midst of the chaos he had just caused.
“Silence!” His voice suddenly boomed through the hall, a dissatisfactory look on his face.
I pursed my lips as I stared at Alexander, he had done it, he had defended me when I thought all hope was lost. A part of me, which I thought was dead, was still clinging on to the little ray of light that seemed to shine dimly, it was the shattered remnant of my dreams I thought I had lost.
Sensing the trouble brewing, the stage manager, looking panicked, shouted orders into his headset, but his voice was hard to hear over the noise. Security guards, looking serious, pushed through the crowd, reminding everyone to keep quiet
