Chapter 53. The Winner
Nina’s POV
Fortunately, Alexander was at my back to steady me and stop me from falling.
“Nina, sit,” he gently whispered into my ear.
I looked up into his captivating orbs and sighed softly before taking my seat. I was overwhelmed by nervousness because I knew Madame Ophelia was about to announce the competition winners.
“President Alexander Antonia,” Madame Ophelia’s voice rang out as she first of all, acknowledged Alexander’s present, it was a sign of professional courtesy. “The judges are ready to announce the results now.”
As soon as Madame Ophelia said those words, my heart skipped a beat, shuttering in my chest as I forced myself to steady my breathing that had become rapid. It felt as though a hummingbird was trapped beneath my ribs, this was the moment of truth, the moment I would find out if Alexander’s intervention made a difference.
