After Zayn left for the meeting, Lucien walked slowly around the office, his eyes taking in everything with quiet curiosity. The place was too neat for his liking. The books on the shelf were arranged in a straight line, not a single paper out of place. It felt almost like a museum, where every item had a fixed position and touching it would feel wrong.
He moved closer to Zayn’s large desk. At first glance, there was nothing special on it—just a lamp, a few files, and some pens placed neatly in a holder. But then, his gaze fell on the picture frame lying face down. Something about the way it was turned away from sight made Lucien curious.
He reached for it and lifted it gently. In the photo, he saw an older woman with sharp features, her eyes soft but strong. Her face carried an uncanny resemblance to Zayn’s. Lucien tilted his head and whispered to himself, “Maybe… his mother.”
