Chapter 50. I Know What That Means

Thomas’s POV

Standing in the hallway outside of Mia’s room, I am unsure of what I am supposed to do. The pack believes that we are in love and that she is my chosen mate. I feel like we need to keep up the facade until she finds her fated mate or I find Donovan and kill him.

The doctor walks out of her room and looks me up and down. “Alpha,” he says seriously. “I think you and I should talk.”

I follow the doctor through the corridors of the hospital to his office. He gestures for me to have a seat inside and shuts the door behind us.

“What is it?” I ask the doctor as he takes a seat behind his desk.

“I did what I could,” he begins. “The cut on her face was deeply infected and her leg was badly broken. Her ribs are tough to look at but will heal on their own.”

“What do you mean? You did what you could,” I ask him.

The doctor takes in a sharp breath before speaking again. “Unless we can find her fated mate she will live with a scar on h
