Chapter 8. I Promise to Return
Aria’s POV
As the sun shines happily on the cool rippling surface of the sea, I lay down with Caroline beside the shore with a big stone under our heads as we stared up to the sky.
As the breeze swirls around us, I feel a peaceful sensation clouding my mind.
Everywhere seemed calm, as the only noise heard was the chanting of the birds and the enormous sound coming directly from the water.
“I love the ocean smell, it calms me a lot,” Caroline expressed with her eyes closed.
“Same here,” I muttered.
“I love the peace that it comes along with,” I said.
“Yeah…” She said when messaging her temple gently.
I smiled and tilted my head to the other side, “I can’t remember the last time that I felt this peaceful around me…”
“Really…”
“Yeah…” I smiled.
“Is that why you wanted to drown yourself?”
“You know leaving alone brings peace of mind but staying with people comes with a lot of pain,” I swallowed bitterly.
