Chapter 6
Camille stiffened. She should have known this was coming and she should have left immediately he approached, but now it was too late. Theo didn’t elaborate—he didn’t need to. She knew exactly what he meant.
After a beat of silence, she turned fully toward him. “Theo,” she started, quieter now, and bit her lower lip as she summoned courage, “I need to be honest with you.”
Well this was getting interesting. He inclined his head slightly, waiting.
“This… this isn’t something I’m comfortable with.” She swallowed, her brows drawing together. “You’re asking me to keep tabs on my boss. To report back to you on things he hasn’t chosen to share.”
Theo didn’t speak. He let her continue.
“I understand why you need to know what’s going on,” she admitted, “but I don’t want to be involved in this way. It puts me in a position I never wanted to be in.”
