Chapter 14
Feelings
Adele sat up in bed, her body floating in mid-air. She was at a loss for what to do. She knew and was certain that the woman she and her Aunt Julia were helping was Hugo’s lover, who had died. Hugo’s Soleil.
She bites her nails because she isn’t sure whether to tell Hugo or Helena. When she arrived home, it was late at night; she didn’t go to her Aunt Julia’s house since it was already dark and she needed to return to take care of their wedding preparations.
Coming home seemed the same as before, without mommy Helena or daddy Adelard. Hugo was too late to return home, so she didn’t expect him to be there. She was pondering when she heard a knock on the door. She looked at the clock on their wall and noticed that it was only 7:30 p.m. When she didn’t respond, the person outside spoke out.
