Carl hurried through the hallway with a nervous expression, while passing by the many doors which were facing each other. If he could remember correctly, his mother’s room was at the farthest end.

His heartbeat heightened and he could even feel the sweats that were already forming on his forehead as he increased his footsteps.

After he had finally reached the door, he stopped walking then breathed in a deep sigh and shut his eyes, be he slowly extended his hands toward the doorknob, as his heart thumped in anticipation.

His hand was clasped tightly on the doorknob for some seconds as he hoped that everything wasn’t a dream and it was all real. He took a deep breath again before he finally turned the doorknob and slowly pushed the door open.

After entering the room, he felt his heart stopped beating as his eyes instantly landed on the bed and they widened tremendously.
