Chapter 62. Back Off
Greg gave her a helpless look while he was still scouring for an answer. She had started dragging attention, and he didn’t want that. He had planned to keep a low-profile tonight. This bar was filled with girls that wouldn’t think twice before throwing themselves in his way. He didn’t plan to entertain that tonight.
“You tell me what is better than a beer, Princess.”
His question made her pause and she stared at him in a daze, her eyelids still opening and closing.
Amidst the music floating from a distance, her voice was strangely softer. She stood on tiptoes and leaned in closer, until her face was barely a distance and their breathes missed.
“Something better than a bear?” She murmured, as if pondering. “I don’t know, Greg… But what I love most…” She trailed off, then giggled. “What I love most is desserts. Will you get me one?”
