Chapter 9. Fated to Meet

“Heh?” When Clara heard him, she was confused until she turned and another surprise hit her at the sight of her phone.

She was dumbstruck and could only utter. “T-th-thank you.” While taking the phone from his hand.

‘So he is the one that took it,’ she thought inside happily.

The phone was already damaged beyond repair but she was happy that she could finally get her sim card.

She stared at it carefully, it was gifted to her by her father on her twenty-fourth birthday, and she was sad that she had to depart with it.

When Carl looked up, she was staring at the phone and he saw a hint of sadness in her eyes.

He quickly took out his own phone and texted his brother who was already on his way back, to buy a new cellphone.

“Damn, is he punishing me already?” Zach cursed at the other end while yawning the moment he saw his brother’s text.
