Chapter 22. A Curious Family

The entire family slowly had a meal of meatballs, beef chili, and salad for dessert. It was carefully prepared with rich and spicy ingredients, giving it a delicious taste with a good aroma that anyone couldn't resist.

“ So, Audrey, how has it been getting along with my grandson? ” Grandma Nana inquired while slowly dipping a spoon of salad into her mouth. Audrey was surprised at the question, for she assumes most women only care about what you have to offer to their son and not what he has to offer you. She stares briefly at Carter, pondering how to answer the question, but Carter avoids eye communication with her, a frown spread across his voice.

“ It has been the best days of my life, Carter is so lovely”

“ Aww… Never thought I would see the day a woman will say much about my brother” Trisha teased him, but his face remained calm while his jaw tightened.

“ Does he give you a strenuous time at night? ”Grandma Nana inquired again. 

“Of course
