Chapter 64. A Feeling of Guilt

Audrey let her eyes slowly trail down to the both of them, she could feel the hot air in the room and wondered if her presence had interrupted an important discussion. “ Am I interrupting? ”. 

She finally asked, letting her eyes stop at Carter, who had his head lowered. 

“ No… Not at all, I was just about leaving ”. Liam exclaimed, slowly stepping away from the office. “ What is going on? ”. 

Audrey asked after Liam shut the door behind him. “ Nothing much, just some work issue, come here ”. Carter beckoned to her, and she slowly let her hips rest on his lap, and yet, he still managed to avoid her gaze. “ Is everything alright, Carter, you seem like you are avoiding me ”?

“ Why would I ”?

“ Do you think things are moving too fast between us because if it works for you, we could tell it is slow ”? Her eyes darting at his trying to search for an answer, seeing how curious she was, he kissed her. Audrey smiles at him as the fragrance of his
