As his senses returned, he remembered that a sudden tap on his shoulder had brought him back, so he looked up to see who had tapped him, and his heart skipped a beat when his gaze fell on Declan, who stood before him with a sinister smile on his chiseled face.
Without wasting another second, he instantly turned away from him and took two steps backward unknowingly.
Declan’s gaze on him had felt like a burning fire, one which burned him directly to his soul. It was so intense that he knew if he kept his gaze on him for another second, he would be consumed. He couldn’t take it so he did the only thing that helped him hold onto his sanity.
