The man is taken aback by his butler’s statement. He unconsciously takes two steps backward and narrows his eyes but chooses not to reply in haste and a fit of anger.
He knows naturally that his butler’s words are not ones to be played with or ignored without deep consideration.
Chad has been working for his family before he was born.
He has been part of the foundation of the family and has always contributed to every activity going on in the family.
When he took over as the helmsman of the family, Chad was always there to assist and advise him on what to do and what not to do, how to do things, and how to approach every situation. Only with Chad’s help did he manage to push the family to this height so Chad is not in any way a stranger.
But that isn’t why he was taken aback, Chad’s history with them is part of it but not the main thing. In all the years he’s known Chad and even before, Chad has never shown fear.
