Chapter 45. Box of Jewelry

Lucien is overwhelmed with a sense of guilt as he watches Juliet sobbing. He bites down on his lower lip, his heart clenching.

He never thought his past actions caused her this amount of pain.

When he ran away, he thought it wouldn’t affect her so much and at that at most, she would only cry for a week or two, but now, he is realizing just how wrong he was. Placing his hand on his chest, he quietly swears that from today onwards, he will make it up to her by making her the happiest woman in the world.

Without caring about the consequences of his actions anymore he wheels himself to her and gently pulls her up into his arms.
