Chapter 114
The old man bowed his head and looked at what he was doing. When he looked out the window, he added, "Oh... well, you might have seen that it's daylight outside," he said, pointing absentmindedly out the window.
A little dark sparrow perched on a tree limb drenched in sunshine just beyond the window's pane. This small bird trilled a sweet little note and then flew away.
In fact, Robert said nothing but nodded.
With a sigh, the elderly gentleman rolled his eyes. "Yes, well, you could have forgotten, but I don't do well in bright sunshine, yes?"
Robert smiled and nodded.
"Well," the old man explained, "that's exactly what this is." He touched the necklace that he had unpinned from his neck with his index finger.
Robert had always been perplexed as to why he wore that particular item of clothing. ...save for that necklace, which remained constant regardless of what was popular
