When Lucinda returned to her camp an hour later, she wondered if anyone had actually seen the fireball, or if they had only heard about it. The other witches were camping under the hidden white sleet, miles away from their original location, as they had all scattered themselves in order to avoid being discovered by the vampires who had cast a spell to track them down with the help of Darwin, who had dark magic within him.
