Chapter 156. Inquisitor

Adam took out his cell phone and asked a detective who was a partner and personal friend of his to quickly find out if the owner had a niece called Bonnie, and soon got a positive answer. He sent a photograph of the young woman and it was the same one who had been talking to him. However, the photo came with other information.

  Bonnie was an upper-class young woman who had become hopelessly involved with the mafia. After the death of her boyfriend, she moved back to southeastern Nevada with her lawyer sister and started doing shady jobs for various loan sharks and, on occasion, the mafia.

  Adam finished reading the report about her on his cell phone and thought about it. What if it was her job this time? What if she had been manipulating him all along into inviting her to his house?
