Chapter 49

Ashley took a deep breath, calming his alpha aura. 

He then glanced at Ralph, who was at a loss for words, with his lips half-closed and his jaw tightened in anger.

Serves you right, Ashley muttered to himself, feeling very satisfied.

"I agree with what the chief said," Zeus spoke up. "I also thought the same thing. Running away in this situation is not the right decision."

"Everyone!" Ashley stood up while looking around at everyone in the meeting room. "How long are you going to keep making a fuss like this? While you're busy with your own business, our people are out there fighting to defend our territory!"

Everyone there, instead of stopping, now looked at each other. 

As if they were looking for someone they could use as a scapegoat.

Ashley's hands clenched tightly, anger and annoyance mixed together.

If he were the enemy, he would have killed everyone in this room without hesitation.
