Ashley walked calmly into the dining room, ignoring the contemptuous stares of the servants and mansion staff directed at him.  

His servants only accompanied him to the front of the dining room; they were not allowed to follow him inside, as was customary.

Although no one here said anything, their glances were more than enough for Ashley to know that his presence here was actually unacceptable, both legally and according to the common sense of the Schmidt werewolf clan.
