ADRIAN’S POV

I got out. I stare wide-eyed at Veronica as she smiles at me with that evil and menacing smile I all too well remember. I fucking got out.

“You saved me,” I say in disbelief. I feel like I’m in a dream. I’m not going to lie; Dante is a scary man, and he’s strong and calculating, and I never thought I would ever be free from him. I never thought the day would come when I would be out in the world without Dante threatening to put a bullet through my skull. I mean, if you really think about it, I did my part.
