ADELINE’S POV

“Bad day, huh?” Colton’s voice is the first thing I hear as soon as I open my eyes. “You know what? I was wrong. Maybe you’re just stupid, and you’ll be dead soon enough.”

“Get the fuck out of here!” I say, jerking up from the bed as I remember what Veronica did to that poor girl. I was dreaming about her. My face still felt sore from how hard I was slapped, but my mind kept going back to the girl.

“If you keep acting difficult, you’ll keep getting d****ed, and this is not a place where you want to lose your senses. You want to be in the right mind all the damn time!
