ADELINE’S POV

All the new girls are quieter today. They look scared and numb. They look like all the life and hope has been drained out of them and all that is left is darkness and suffering. They’ve been broken right down to their cores. A few days spent here have made them understand what their new lives are going to be like.

It looks like they’ve accepted it. It makes me angry. It makes me frustrated. The new girls will be like the old girls soon. They will do everything to survive and to do that, they will have to accept their new lives and live each day as it presents itself. This is hell. This is sinister.

This is the worst thing you can do to any woman. Completely reduce her to a toy and then demoralize her so badly that she doesn’t even have any fight left in her.
