Chapter 10. Wanting

Lamia stood up and walked over to the fridge, grabbing a couple more beers. We followed suit and I propped myself up against the breakfast bar on the kitchenette side. She handed me a beer, and then Mike.

"Thanks, I'm going to go call my dad from my room, see what plans he wants to go over." With a shrug of his shoulders accompanied by an eye roll, Mike sauntered to his door, entering and closing it behind him.

I'm sure he will fill me in later. It was the Beta's job to ensure the security of the pack grounds and people and, as Mike would be taking over from his dad when I was initiated as Alpha, he took his job very seriously. Despite him being a man-whore, he was the most honorable guy I have ever met. He is not just my Beta and best friend, he is my brother. I would trust him with my life as I would Lamia.
