Chapter 80. Nothing Can Go Wrong
Zac froze, his breath catching in his throat. He didn’t dare move a muscle, knowing that the red dot on his forehead meant a sniper had them in their sights.
Carlos’s mind raced, trying to think of a way to get them out of this situation without getting Zac killed.
“Alright, we’re not here to cause trouble,” Carlos called out, his voice steady despite the fear coursing through him. “We’re just looking for our friends.”
A voice crackled from a hidden speaker nearby, cold and menacing. “You have five seconds to drop your weapons and put your hands up.”
Carlos glanced at Zac, who gave a barely perceptible nod. They had not told each other that they had weapons but slowly, Carlos set his knife that was in his pocket on the ground and raised his hands. Zac did the same, moving as cautiously as possible.
