Chapter 25. The Auction

I step out of the car and walk around. Opening the door, I watch Roxy climb from inside. Lucia is getting brought by Hugh. I feel Roxy link her arm through mine, and we walk in together.

She quickly releases me and walks through a side room, returning wearing a bracelet. I don't see why, though. She has enough on as it is, and the bracelet just gets lost in the rest.

We walked the event, and she clung to me, constantly touching my neck and face.

"Marco." I nod at Jimmy. "I think I'm ready to accept a cigar." His words have me pause.

"That's a big step, Jimmy. Last time I offered you one, you refused, and quick," I smirk at him, waiting.

"Well, I have another proposal I would like to discuss further if you will allow me?" He stands waiting. I can't do business here, not that sort of business anyway.

"We will sort a meeting, Jimmy. If what you propose works, you can accept the cigar." He nods and walks away. Roxy glances
