Chapter 40. I Need to Go Back

The darkness continues to surround me, but Zack’s warm touch lets me know he is often close to me. His touches keep my hope alive as I continue to struggle to find a way out of here. There has to be some way. I won’t give up trying, no matter what.

A chill suddenly runs down my back as a strong wave of anger slams up against me. What is happening out there?

Zack’s warmth on my hand has faded. I only have my memory now of what it feels like.

With every fiber in my body, I cling to that memory. I glance down at my hand as the thought of the delicious tingles ignites the same sensation now, but without his warmth.

Rage suddenly consumes me as my heart aches.

Something isn’t right. I need to get back and help.

I muster up every ounce of energy I have and ball my hands into fists as I scream as loud as I can. “I NEED TO GO BACK! NOW! SOMETHING IS WRONG!”
