“I don’t mean to disrespect you Jane, but what the hell were you thinking?” Eferius sneered. He didn’t like the idea of Jane coming back with Mike who has been after them. Eferius is having trust issues especially when it has to do with creatures that rival them.

“What? What the hell was I thinking?”

“He’s working for Amara Jane. They want us dead, we want them dead.”

“He doesn’t work for her anymore.”

“He told you that?”

“Yes, he did!”

“And you believed him?”

“What do you expect? He’s the one who is bold enough to turn against Amara and he has promised to tell me everything we need to know.”

As the argument continued, Mike walked in on them interrupting their conversation. He glanced at them both and opened his mouth to speak. “I know I have been a jackass. But believe me when I say I’m done with Amara. You two are witches, you can do an intention spell to find out if my intentions are good or bad. But be assured t
