Yesterday, when I’d confidently told Arya to teach me how to fight, I didn’t think I’d regret making that decision. My body ached with so much intensity after the countless hours I’d spent in the sun learning how to throw an arrow. Arya insisted it was the activity best suited for me because of ‘my long arms’. I massaged my palms, trying to ease the pain I felt in them.
“You’ll thank me later,” Arya said, her voice cutting through my thoughts as she approached. She had a bow slung over her shoulder and a quiver full of arrows that seemed to mock my aching muscles.
“I’m not so sure about that,” I muttered, earning a sharp look from her.
