Chapter 11
Alex frantically went after this strange presence, which he perceived to be an intruder, but could not find what he hoped to see. He got outside the pack and stopped, looking around the territory. He was worried about it all because it felt like the same presence he had felt when he saw someone in the woods the day he was addressing his people about the blood moon.
Exhaling deeply, he walked back into the pack house and saw that everyone was already merry to the fullest. He was about to walk over to the counter to pour himself a glass of bourbon when Mia walked up to him. “Are you okay?” She asked him, and he stared aloofly at her, pretending not to see her.
To him, she was an obstruction, standing in the way of him and his glass of bourbon.
Mia was about to speak further when Riel pulled her away for a dance. “Riel!” Mia exclaimed, laughing at the way she was pulled away from Alex.
