Almost as soon as they entered the ballroom, Aria and Troy were separated. James took Troy around the room and Cassie did the same for Aria.
“Try to be a little less obvious, Jim,” said Troy, watching Aria from across the room.
She was watching him too, looking for all the world like she had no idea what CC and Cassie were talking about, so caught up was she in him. In thinking about all the things he would do to her when they got back to the bunker. Troy grinned at her. It was written all over her face.
“I don’t know what you mean. It’s unhealthy to be attached at the hip all the time you know,” said James, flashing Troy a cocky grin.
“All right, Jim. Let’s play. You and I both know I’m the ultimate player,” said Troy, walking away.
But he’d scarcely taken a few steps when Emily showed up in front of him.
“I come in peace,” she said, offering him a glass of champagne. “I don’t suppose you want to dance with me?”
