Chapter 105. Long Live the New Queen of Assassins (1)

Kendall’s papa, Calvin Hunter, died for his cause. He believed that a Hunter should head up the table of The House of Assassins. Papa’s justification for this claim went back to a change in leadership after Grandpapa Killian’s sudden death. His then number two, Duchess Madeline Dormer, took command of The House of Assassins soon afterwards.

This began a bitter rivalry between Grandmama Lilith and Duchess Dormer. The latter soon saw her rank elevated to Archduchess when Imperium’s army of myth took center stage in ending King Edward’s wars. Had papa been successful in dethroning Madz, grandmama would have celebrated him instead of handing him off to be killed. Now, all that was left of papa’s wishes was the thirst for vengeance of his only daughter.

The new seat number 12 was still to be determined. The meeting to declare Maine Industries’ new CEO would happen soon, but even if Kendall did manage to take their place, taking Madz
