Thoughts of taking her hand and dragging her to an airport immediately so that he could take her home, where it could be just them again filled his head. They could start over. He would tell her the truth. She could yell at him forever if she needed to as long as he could kiss her in between, as long as it could be behind closed doors while he split her body in two. As long as they could have their second chance, he would give her absolutely anything she needed.
They probably could have gone on this way for some time, but for the salty wetness he felt drip down onto their joined lips. He pulled away gently, frowning down at her.
“What is wrong?” he implored, wiping away her tears with his thumbs as he held her cheeks in his hands.
