Chapter 94. Cocktail X (2)
“Alcohol couldn’t do to me what you are doing right now,” he groaned, clawing at the wall.
She slipped out from under him and he let her, falling against the wall, relieved.
“Then you have nothing to worry about,” she said, taking his hand and dragging him into the packed club.
She took him straight to the bar, took a seat and placed an order.
“I see nothing has changed,” Aaron said, looking out into the room as he sat down next to her.
To their far right, a bunch of men were arm wrestling. To their left, a man and a woman in leather jackets were playing darts — with knives. The place was dimly lit. Strategically positioned bright lights, with some parts of the club almost completely dark. Just like last time, Aaron forced himself not to look too hard, lest he see something he should not. Room X was all about privacy. Discretion. Minding your own business. Aka shady shit.
Keira put a hand on Aaron’s cheek and steered his face towards hers.
