Shantelle’s POV
The weight of the revelation hung heavy in the air, suffocating us with unspoken words. Everybody was waiting for my uncle to say what he wanted to say so that we could know what to do.
I could feel the tension radiating from Seven, his fists clenched in frustration. I couldn’t even ask him what was going on with him. He didn’t need to be here, but I was thankful that he was here with me. I might not have told him, but my actions were showing it.
It was as if the walls of Uncle Salvador’s study were closing in on us, trapping us in a moment of despair.
It was as though we were waiting for something that was going to change the trajectory of our lives, like we shouldn’t even be interested in all of this. It wasn’t even our problem. I just knew that Seven might be doing all of this for me, but he was still hurt about what Papa did to his own Papa, and he was bottling the emotions.
