“You should have the police look for him,” I said, with a bad face at the scene. “Do you want me to help you with that?”
“No, no!” Elena laughed. “The only thing I’m missing is getting into trouble with the police. If Jaska has messed with any bratva, that’s his business. The further away he is from me and my daughter, the better. Let it burst.”
“Fine, but if you need it, don’t hesitate. I’m going to pass you on to the children.”

I moved the phone away from my ear, and my children looked at me. Sasha didn’t know whether to smile or start crying; my serious expression always confused her. Mirko, on the other hand, was smiling with a mischief worthy of an award. He put down the shampoo bottle and began to massage Laika’s wet fur. The dog loved to be pampered, so nothing. The three of them were ready for me to take a photo; I’m sure Johanna would have been more amused than me.
