After a picnic and a nap facing the sun, there was nothing better than shaking your bones a little with a group activity:
“Okay, this is the plan: Mirko will scare him away and I’ll knock him down, I’m heavier.”
Luke and Kaylee looked at me like I had grown horns. The warm Wyoming summer wind brought the smells of wild testosterone and forest animals to our nostrils. The deer was not far away. Mirko had helped us track him down, but we still didn’t have him in sight. Most people may believe that it is very easy to find a deer and hunt it; the truth is that if it is not a large, unpopulated area, where animals can graze and reproduce without being disturbed, finding a deer is not easy.
