None of the students waiting for Belle burst into the anticipated hilarity or laughter. Instead, they stopped and stared in amazement at the girl they had been making fun of since childhood.

“What’s up with Laura being so silent? Do you mind telling me?” Audrey asked teasingly. Audrey teased. She approached Belle, unsure of how to respond to everyone’s strange expressions.
