Chapter 13

I looked around to make sure Caden wasn't anywhere close as I headed to the kitchen. I tip toed quietly like a thief and went back to the dinning room.

There, there was a covered set of meal on the table. I turned off the light and settled down to eat quietly in the dark.

I ate the food hurriedly as I was very hungry, I was literally starving.

Suddenly, the lights were on.

"What are you doing in the dark?" Caden asked and bursted into laughter after seeing me.

I stopped eating and looked up at him in embarrassment. I could not even hide myself anymore but just stared directly at him.

"I heard some noise coming from the kitchen where I was in the study room and I decided to come down to check what the sound was all about. I didn't know you were down here sneaking in and eating." Caden explained, still laughing.

"Okay, can you please stop laughing now?" I begged, as I was dying of embarrassment deep down.
