We settled around the dining table to eat the scrumptious lunch. The long dining table was filled with all sorts of food, drinks, and fruits. It was like a feast.
The sight was beautiful too. I sat beside Caden while his dad sat opposite, facing him.
Grandpa and grandma sat opposite each other.
“So, when are we expecting a great-grandkid?” Grandpa suddenly asked, and I found myself choking on my food.
“I know, right?” Lauren wouldn’t go corporate.” Caden smirked, and I choked even more.
Caden handed me a glass of water and winked at me.
“Grandpa, don’t you think it’s too early to talk about children?” “We just got married, and we need to enjoy our company together as a couple before thinking about a child,” I said and feigned a smile.
“Am I not right, Caden?” I added and nudged Caden’s arm, who gave me the “What is it?” look.
He looked to see his dad and grandparents staring at him, as if waiting for an explanat
