Chapter 12. Last Minute in Town

Carmela’s POV

The silence at the back of his car makes me feel a little awkward. Beta Matias is the one driving the wheels and sitting beside him is Hadil while me and the Alpha are behind them. I made sure I’m sitting closer to the window than it is to him, while he just sat there with unreadable expression in his face.

He had on an impenetrable dark sunglasses that’s covering his eyes. Last time I saw them it’s gold and fiery. I wonder how does it look by now. I’m not sure for how long I was staring at his angle until he asked.

“What is it, mate?!”

His sudden question almost made me jump from my seat… because of how his voice is. It was like a loud thunder beside me. I wonder how the two people in the front of the car didn’t bother to even look back at us to see what’s going on. It’s as if they didn’t hear anything.

I didn’t realize I’ve been staring at the outline of his body from the side for quite a while. But does he have to snap like that
