Half an hour later, Milcah was off work. After exchanging a few words with Walter and Almira, she signaled to Jonathan that she would take care of the guests, allowing him to leave.

Jonathan didn't hesitate, exchanging a few more words with Walter before departing from the mansion and driving to Adela's residence.

He parked the car in the lot near Adela's house and ventured into the supermarket across the street. Then he dialed Adela.

"Just got home, preparing to cook dinner for Carla. Anything important?" she inquired.

Jonathan smiled: “Just wanted to give a small heads-up. There's a rice sale today at the supermarket across from your place. It's three pennies cheaper per pound. Life is hard. Every penny saved counts!"
