About half an hour later, there were three perfectly cooked dishes on the table. They were simple, but their aroma was tantalizing.

Seeing Jonathan bring out two bowls and a pair of chopsticks, Carnelian asked with a puzzled look: "But you've already eaten, haven't you?"

Eating indeed!

Tonight, Jonathan had visited the bar, for leisure, sure, but certainly not for a full meal.

Earlier, he had merely spoken for the sake of conversation.

"I didn't get full, so I want to eat some more."

Jonathan picked up his bowl and started eating.

Despite Carnelian's internal reminders to maintain her composure, the food Jonathan cooked was genuinely delicious, even better than that at upscale restaurants.

Hence, although she didn't want to eat like a starved tiger, she still finished her bowl at a rather quick pace.

She didn't even want to stop.
