He surely wouldn't hear a thing now.
Derek glanced at Jonathan's plain clothes and conjectured: "Are you broke? Just say the word, I'll give you money! One million, no, five million. I'll give you five million. Just leave Crimson Ridge and stop bothering me, alright?"
Derek was now quite extravagant in clothing, while Jonathan was significantly more modest.
It was completely different from the past.
But Jonathan was far from destitute. Even if he were, it seemed Derek – who was doing his best to convince Jonathan to leave Crimson Ridge – had forgotten where his current wealth originated.
He had brazenly usurped the position that rightly belonged to Jonathan.
Derek's resentment was akin to a poor relative begging for a handout.
