Chapter 22

The father-daughter duo quickly entered the hotel lobby.

But the mood shifted awkwardly as guests pointed and whispered. Orla, adorned in her engagement gown, turned and saw Jonathan and Carla, her smile twisting into something malicious: “Why… Why are you here?”

Others in the crowd also recognized Jonathan and Carla, their expressions curious.

Orla was celebrating her engagement at the Way Heaven Hotel, and the unexpected appearance of her husband and daughter was causing a scene.

“Mom, didn’t dad say you wouldn’t be at my birthday?” Carla asked excitedly upon seeing Orla.

But then, Edward angrily yelled: "Jonathan, today is my engagement day with Orla. What are you doing here causing trouble?”

“I command you to take your pathetic daughter and leave, or I’ll call security!” he threatened.

Bang!

Jonathan suddenly lashed out with lightning speed, kicking Edward in the stomach without showing any emotion: “Try insulting Carla again!
