Chapter 85. The Escapee

At first it seemed like Ramsey wasn’t around and then I asked one of the men to check the back. They caught him trying to jump through the roof and escape. The men carried him back into the tent and threw him to the ground. He tried to resist and they wanted to beat him up but I held my hand out.

“Hold on. Let him be.”

He was sitting on the floor and looking around wildly. Seeing him gave me some sort of faint hope, like Aurora couldn’t be so far away anymore. Just being around someone who was close to her felt good.

“You don’t need to be afraid Ramsey. It’s me. If I didn’t kill you then I certainly have no plans of doing so now. Get up and sit down.”

One of the men helped him to sit down. He finally calmed down and seemed like he was ready to talk.

“Where is Aurora?” Thoren asked.
