Chapter 13
Seris’s POV
I took a steadying breath and headed for the bathroom to wash my face. It was the first time I’d set foot in that room, and I would have lingered over its beauty if not for the burning pain on my cheeks and jaw. My reflection revealed fresh wounds, but I didn’t bother to hide them—my mate wouldn’t notice. I splashed cool water over my face, letting it soothe the sting, then toweled off and left without a second thought.
Back in the bedroom, I moved quickly, intent on erasing every hint of what had happened. I gathered every shard of broken glass and flung them out the window. Then I grabbed the small, face-sized towel I’d spotted in the bathroom and soaked up the sticky, sour liquid that had pooled on the floor. Within moments, no evidence remained—no trace of the chaos behind me.
