Seris’s POV
I opened my eyes after what felt like an age and inhaled sharply as I caught sight of myself in the gilded mirror. In that moment, I could scarcely believe what I saw: I looked radiant, regal, every bit the powerful queen Ronan deserved. A soft thrill of pride raced through me.
My hair had been artfully arranged into glossy tendrils and looser, semi-curled locks. Though some of the thicker strands framed my face, the rest was swept into a loose bun at the nape of my neck, allowing the curls to tumble down my shoulders. For once, my makeup was more than the barest minimum. Each element—the subtle, smoky shadow at my lids, the sculpted cheekbones brushed with rose-tinged highlighter, the soft contour along my jaw—was applied to perfection. It seemed as if the artist had painted every plane of my face with purpose, accentuating my green eyes and giving my lips a lush fullness.
Around my neck glimmered the new matching diamond set Ronan had gifted me
