Chapter 34. Lies

Cybele stepped back. She backed away slowly, in front of Gael's repentant gaze.

"I thought I was the selfish one in the relationship."

"I'm not staying with her anymore. With any of them."

"Why?" Gael asked as he followed her gaze to the crib.

He heard the sound of video breaking, but it was too late. Cybele threw herself out of the window. Gael was just in time to see her clamber down and run fast into the forest, and the wolves chase after her. He turned around.
